The White Ferns have lost the series deciding third and final ODI against India in Ahmedabad by six wickets.

The White Ferns have lost the series deciding third and final ODI against India in Ahmedabad by six wickets.


New Zealand scored 232 all out in the last over Brooke Halliday top-scoring with 86 while Georgia Plimmer was next with 39 runs.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Down the order there was 25 from Izabella Graz and 24 from Lea Tahuhu from 14 balls including a six and a two fours.


But otherwise the score was let down by Suzie Bates, Lauren Down and Sophie Devine all failing to reach double figures.


Maddy Green made 15 and Hannah Rowe 11 while extras were 14.


In response India started and finished well.


Opener Smiriti Mandhana compiled a 100 runs off just 122 balls before being bowled by Hannah Rowe.


Captain Hamanpreet Kaur also led the way with 59 not out off 64 balls.


The best of the New Zealand bowlers was Rowe with 2-47 from eight overs as India reached 236-4 in the 45th over.


The next time the White Ferns play will be mid December at home against Australia in an ODI series.
