The White Ferns have won the second ODI against India by 76 runs after scoring 259 for 9 they dismissed the home side for 183 in Ahmedabad.


New Zealand, were led by an all-round effort from captain Sophie Devine who top-scored with 79 and took 3-27 when India were at bat.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Other key contributors were openers Suzie Bates with 58 and Georgia Plimmer 41 while Maddy Green made 42.


Izzy Gaze and Jess Kerr added 11 and 12 runs respectively down the order to keep the score ticking over.


Lea Tahuhu took 3-42 along with Eden Carson and Jess Kerr picking up two wickets each.


It was notable that the win was without Amelia Kerr who has returned home injured.


New Zealand also grabbed crucial points in the Women's Championship for direct qualification for next year's World Cup.


The series is now 1-1 with the third and final match on Tuesday night.
