The 52-year-old closed with an even-par 70 at the Firestone Country Club to finish at three-under for the week, seven strokes behind South African Ernie Els, who won his first senior major by a stroke.

Back-to-back bogeys at the 17th and 18th holes to end his round, after birdies at the third and 16th, kept him from finishing outright sixth.

Lee carded his second straight one-over 72 at Real Club Valderrama on Sunday (Monday NZT) to finish at two-under at the no-cut 54-hole tournament, three shots behind the winner, Spain's Sergio Garcia, who fired a five-under 66.

Starting from the first hole, Lee made birdies at the first and fourth holes, followed by bogeys at the sixth and ninth. Back-to-back birdies at the 10th and 11th were spoiled by bogeys at the 13th and 14th, while a birdie at the 16th was followed by bogeys at the last two.

At the Evian Championship in France, the fourth women's golf major of the year, Lydia Ko ended in tied for 39th at three-under after an even-par 71 in the final round on Sunday (Monday NZT).

Ko, who finished 16 strokes behind the winner, made fourth birdies and four bogeys, and briefly got to four-under after picking up shots at the fifth, sixth and 12th holes.

At the DP World Tour's Scottish Open, Daniel Hillier and Ryan Fox both went in reserve during the final round on Sunday (Monday NZT).

Hillier dropped 13 spots into a tie for 46th at seven-under after an even-par 70 at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, while Fox slid 14 places into a share of 57th at six-under following an even-par round.

Hillier managed birdies at the fourth and 10th holes as he looked to move into the top-20, before bogeys at the 11th and 15th. Fox also mixed two birdies with two bogeys.
