Three Kiwis in Roland Garros doubles

Three New Zealanders are in the doubles draws at the French Open  this year

A trio of New Zealand players are in the men's and women's doubles draws at the 2024 French Open at Roland Garros.


Former winner, Michael Venus is teaming up once again with Scotland's Jamie Murray after some mixed results so far this year, where they won the title in Doha and made the semis at Madrid but have struggled for anything else of significance.

They're the 13th seeds and face Spaniards Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar first round.


Back at the tournament for the first time since 2021 Marcus Daniell is combining with American Mackenzie McDonald.


They have drawn Jamaican Dustin Brown and American Frances Tiafoe in what will be an entertaining match.


In the women's draw, Erin Routliffe who has an individual doubles ranking of three is teaming up with Canadian Leylah Fernandez.


Together they are ninth seeds at the French Open after finishing as semifinalists in Strasbourg last week.


They play the Chinese pair Hanyu Guo and Xinyu Jiang in the doubles first round, both are ranked outside the top 40 rankings.
