Routliffe continues progress in Cincinnati

New Zealand's Erin Routliffe and American Asia Muhammad have won their way into the doubles semifinals at the Cincinnati WTA 1000 tournament.


They defeated Demi Schuurs (Netherlands) and Brazilian Luisa Stefani 6-2, 5-7 10-7 in their quarterfinal in one hour 44 minutes.

The will play Britain's Harriet Dart and Australian Ellen Perez for a place in the final


Earlier in the tournament Routliffe and Muhammad beat Moyuka Uchijima (Japan) and China's Yafan Wang 7-6(2) 7-6(4) in the second round.


Routliffe is the current women's doubles No 1 and is the US Open champion with Canadian Gaby Dabrowski.
