New Zealand drivers Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon have finished in the top-five at IndyCar's latest race.
Following his victory in the first race at Iowa Speedway 24 hours earlier, McLaughlin crossed the line third in the One Step 250 on Sunday (Monday NZ Time), followed closely by six-time series champion Dixon.

Starting on pole, McLaughlin led the race’s first 94 laps to push his two-night consecutive laps led total to 259.
The former Supercars winner lost Sunday’s lead when a caution came out on Lap 101 for Agustin Canapino’s stalled car in Turn 2. As Palou was on pit road at the time and Power had not yet made his scheduled stop, those two drivers cycled to the front, pushing McLaughlin back to third.
It was McLaughlin's third straight podium finish, and sixth overall in 2024, while it was Dixon's sixth top-five result.
The third Kiwi on the grid, Marcus Armstrong, started 25th and managed to make his way up to 19th.
McLaughlin's Team Penske teammate Will Power won for the first time at Iowa and Dixon's Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Alex Palou finished second as the top-six in the driver standings finished in the top-six in the race.
With six races remaining, Palou continues to lead, now by just 35 points from Power, while Dixon is fourth, 57 points back and McLaughlin fifth, 65 points adrift.
The IndyCar series continues this weekend, with the Indy Toronto street race on Sunday (7am Monday NZT).
