Wellington Phoenix let Bozhidar Kraev go

Bozhidar Kraev’s time at the Wellington Phoenix has come to an end with the club stating they will not be re-signing the Bulgarian midfielder.


Kraev made 54 A-League appearances for the Phoenix over the past two years, scoring 13 goals and providing an assist for seven others.

He was a key part of last season’s record-breaking side which narrowly missed out on winning the Premiers’ Plate and finished just short of a place in the grand final.


Bozhidar Kraev said he was grateful for the two years he spent in the capital.


“My period in Wellington at the Phoenix has been remarkable personally and professionally,” Kraev said.


“I would like to thank all the players, coaches and staff members that I worked with, and of course all the supporters.


“I wish all the best to Giancarlo Italiano and the team for the future.”


The club thanked Bozhidar for his contribution to the Wellington Phoenix over the past two years and wishes him and his young family all the best for the future.
