Twenty-seven-year-old Ko had a blemish-free round with five birdies hitting 11 of 14 fiarway and 16 of 17 greens at the Sentosa Golf Club.

"I don't think I typically play really well on this course Nad I thought this year would be a good year to kind of turn that around," said Ko.

She has played the tournament on 10 previous occasions with the title eluding her so far.
