Kiwis in Action: Paris Olympics - Day 3

Mountain biker Sam Gaze represents The NZ Team’s best medal hope on Day 3 at the Paris Olympics.


The two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist and multi-time world champion will line up in the men’s cross country race at Elancourt Hill at 12.10am Tuesday NZ Time.

Monday is also the final day of the three-day eventing, featuring Kiwis Tim Price (ninth), Clarke Johnstone (12th) and Jonelle Price (41st), with showjumping qualifier from 9pm Monday NZT and final from 1am Tuesday NZT.


Swimmer Erika Fairweather will toe the block in her second final in Paris, qualifying seventh-fastest for the women’s 200m freestyle medal race at 7.48am Tuesday NZT.


In team sports, the Black Ferns Sevens will try to put themselves into the medal matches, playing their final pool game and a quarterfinal on day three, while Lulu Sun and Erin Routliffe will play their rain-delayed women’s doubles tennis first round match at Roland Garros.


NZ Team athletes are also in action in rowing (Kate Haines and Alana Sherman), sailing (women’s 49erFX, men’s 49er, and men’s and women’s foil) and shooting (Owen Robinson).
