After no medals on the first full day of competition at the Paris Olympics, The NZ Team has several chances to get on the board on day two.

Swimmer Lewis Clareburt is in action for the first time, in the men's 400m individual medley, mountain biker Sammie Maxwell takes on the women's cross-country and Luuka Jones is eyeing the women's K1 canoe slalom final.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Clareburt is in action at Paris La Defense Arena in the heats at 9pm Sunday NZ Time, with a potential race for gold set for 6.30am Monday NZT, while Erika Fairweather is back in the pool for the women's 200m freestyle heats.

Jones, at her fifth Olympics, qualified 15th for the women's canoe slalom semifinals after a sluggish start to the competition but is still capable of the form that saw her claim a silver medal at Rio 2016.

The sailing programme at Marseille Marina gets underway on day two, with Kiwis Veerle ten Have (women's foil), Josh Armit (men's foil), Jo Aleh and Molly Meech (women's 49erFX) and Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie (men's 49er) in action.

In team sports, the Black Ferns Sevens take the field for the first time, against China (4am Monday NZT) and Canada (7.30am Monday NZT), while the Football Ferns face Colombia in a crucial Group A match (3am Monday NZT), and the Black Sticks Men meet Belgium (3.30am Monday NZT).

Lulu Sun will be in action twice, in the women's singles first round (12.30am Monday NZT) and women's doubles first round, with Erin Routliffe (2.15am Monday NZT).

New Zealand athletes will also be involved in equestrian, gymnastics, rowing and surfing competition.
