The Paris Olympics are in the home stretch but The NZ Team still has ambitions on several more medals.

That starts on Day 13 on Thursday (Thursday/Friday NZ Time), with Kiwi athletes set to compete in between three and six medal events, and with three or four legitimate medal contenders.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Leading the way is the women's K4 canoe sprint team of Lisa Carrington, Alicia Hoskin, Tara Vaughan and Olivia Brett, who clocked the second-fastest time to progress directly to the final from their heat (11.40pm NZT).

Track cyclist Ellesse Andrews will look to add to her silver medal from the women's team sprint with another medal in the women's keirin (from 3.18am Friday NZT). She is the current world champion and was a silver medallist in Tokyo 2020 in the event, which will also feature teammate Rebecca Petch.

Also at the velodrome, New Zealand flagbearer Aaron Gate will compete in the four-race omnium (from 3am Friday NZT), an event he has claimed four medals in at world championships.

In Marseille, Micah Wilkinson and Erica Dawson will chase a silver or bronze medal in the mixed multihull class (from 10.18pm NZT), after the double-points medal race was postponed on Wednesday.

Other possible finalists include the men's K4 canoe sprint crew of Max Brown, Kurtis Imrie, Hamish Legarth and Grant Clancy (from 9.50pm NZT) and Julian David in men's speed climbing (from 10.28pm NZT).
