Some of The NZ Team's biggest remaining medal hopes at the Paris Olympics get their oars wet for the first time on Day 11.

New Zealand's largest-ever Olympic canoe sprint team will compete in a long day of heats and quarterfinals at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in Paris on Tuesday, with medal expectations in several categories.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Several will do double duty on day one of the regatta. Max Brown and Grant Clancy (men's K4 500m and men's C2 500m) and Kurtis Imrie and Hamish Legarth (men's K4 500m and men's K2 500m) could possibly contest four races on Day 11.

New Zealand's most-decorated Olympian Lisa Carrington (five gold, one bronze) will start her bid for potentially three medals in Paris, with the women's K4 500m (with Alicia Hoskin, Tara Vaughan and Olivia Brett) and the women's K2 500m (with Hoskin), with the potential for three races.

The canoe sprint action starts at 7.30pm NZT on Tuesday and continues through to 12.30am Wednesday NZT.

Elsewhere, sailor Tom Saunders will compete in the men's dinghy medal race in Marseille (1.43am Wednesday NZT), although a bronze medal is just barely mathematically within reach. Currently seventh, he would need to win the 10-boat double-points race and have third place finish last, while also have fourth, fifth and sixth have poor finishes.

NCAA middle-distance running sensation Maia Ramsden, a late inclusion for Paris, will take on the women's 1500m heats (8.05pm NZT) and the men's and women's team pursuiters will be in action at the velodrome (from 3.30am Wednesday NZT).
