Kiwis in Action: Paris Olympics - Day 10

Track cycling makes its first appearance at the Paris Olympics on Day 10, and The NZ Team has an immediate shot at a medal.


The women's sprint team of Ellesse Andrews, Rebecca Petch and Shaane Fulton, who finished fifth at the 2023 world championships, will compete in qualifying, first round and potential medal races on Monday (from 3am Tuesday NZ Time).


LATEST HEADLINES:


The men's team pursuit of Aaron Gate, Campbell Stewart, Keegan Hornblow and Tom Sexton will also ride on the first day at the Saint Quentin en Yvelines Velodrome, competing in qualifying.


New Zealand's mixed triathlon relay team - featuring Hayden Wilde, Dylan McCullough, Nicole van der Kaay and Ainsley Thorpe - will get the first chance at a medal in Paris' early morning hours (6pm NZ Time).


It will be followed by canoe slalom paddlers Finn Butcher and Luuka Jones. They are through to the quarterfinals in their respective kayak cross events (from 1.30am Tuesday NZT), and will be hoping to get through to semifinal and big final races.


Day 10 also includes the introduction of sport climbing to the Olympics, with Sarah Tetzlaff New Zealand's first representative in the new discipline. She will compete in qualification seeding at 11pm NZT, and qualification elimination at 11.40pm NZT.


Elsewhere, women's pole vaulters Eliza McCartney, Olivia McTaggart and Imogen Ayris will be in action in qualifying on Monday (from 8.40pm NZT), while wrestler Tayla Ford will be in action for the first time (from 1.30am Tuesday NZT).
