New Zealand's Sam Jones remains in a good position going into the final round of the DP World Tour's Spanish Open in Madrid.


The 28-year-old Taranaki left-hander Jones picked up a shot in the third round to be three-under and tied for 22nd.


LATEST HEADLINES:


His round started with a double bogey on the second hole, followed by a birdie and then bogey.


However, he birdied consecutive holes on the sixth through ninth holes, before a bogey on the the 13th.


Jones sits 10 shots behind the leader, Spaniard Angel Hidalgo, with Jon Rahm next at 11-under.


Fellow Kiwi Daniel Hillier dropped down the order at five-over after a double-bogey, four bogeys and three birdies in his third round.
