Sunday was a rough final day for New Zealand golf professionals at tournaments around the world.

Denzel Ieremia on the Asian Tour, Daniel Hillier on the DP World Tour, Fiona Xu on the Epson Tour and Charlie Hillier on PGA Tour Americas all went backwards on the leaderboard, losing out on valuable points and prizemoney.

Ieremia was the best finisher, tied for 16th at 10-under at the Indonesia Open after an even-par 71 in the fourth round at the Damai Indah Golf PIK Course in Jakarta dropped him seven places.

In a share of ninth starting the day, the 28-year-old from Hamilton ruined his chances for a top-10 finish with three bogeys in five holes to close out his front-nine.

A birdie at the sixth and two on the back-nine salavaged his round, and a best result world ranking points-wise since finishing T18 at the Australian PGA Championship in November 2022.

It was Ieremia's first tournament since March, helping him move up 255 places in the world rankings to 1664th, going past Keiran Muir, Luke Toomey and amateur Zack Swanwick to be New Zealand's 16th-ranked golfer.

In trying to defend his British Masters title at The Belfry, Daniel Hillier dropped nine spots into a tie for 53rd on the final day with a two-over 74.

His round got off to a bad start, with a double-bogey at the par-four second hole, then paired two birdies with two bogeys the rest of the way, closing the tournament at three-over, 19 shots behind the winner, Dane Niklas Norgaard.

With eight tournaments remaining in the 'Back Nine' swing, Hillier is 96th in the Race to Dubai rankings, needing to finish in the top-70 to qualify for the DP World Tour Playoffs.

Ryan Fox, who has spent most of his year on the PGA Tour, is 89th and rookie Sam Jones, who missed the cut at the British Masters, is 141st. The top-115 golfers retain their DP World Tour cards.

Xu tumbled 22 places into a share of 56th at the Epson Tour's Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Indiana after a third round seven-over 79.

The 19-year-old had just one birdie, six bogeys and a double-bogey, adding five strokes to her total in a six-hole stretch to finish her front-nine.

Xu also dropped from the top spot to third in the second-tier tour's Race to the Card rankings with four tournaments to play, with the top-15 at the end of the season earning LPGA Tour cards for 2025.

Compatriot Amelia Garvey missed the 36-hole cut after rounds of 73 and 77 to finish at six-over, four below the cut-line.

At the PGA Tour Americas' CRMC Championship in Brainerd, Minnesota, Charlie Hillier fell 17 rungs into a tie for 59th at one-over after a last round five-over 75.

In a horror round, the 27-year-old from Te Puke dropped four shots in a three-hole stretch on the front-nine and was eight-over for the day through 15 holes after a birdie, seven bogeys and a double-bogey.

He closed with back-to-back-to-back birdies but it was not enough for him to hold onto a spot in the top-120 to qualify for next week's Fortinet Cup Championship. He finished 123rd, just 2.9 points outside.

Harry Hillier, who missed the cut after rounds of 73 and 69, sits sixth in the Fortinet Cup standings, with the top-10 after next week earning a Korn Ferry Tour card for 2025. He already has a conditional KFT card after finishing in the top-two during the Latin America swing earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, Michael Hendry finished tied for 41st at the Japan Golf Tour's Fujisankei Classic, which was shortened to 36 holes due to bad weather.

Hendry, New Zealand's fourth-ranked golfer behind Fox, Ben Campbell and Daniel Hillier, carded rounds of two-over 72 and even=par 70 at the Fujizakura Country Club, finishing 11 shots behind the winner.

At the Legends Tour's India Championship, Michael Long finished tied for 28th at six-over following rounds of four-over 76, two-over 74 and even-par 72., 15 shots behind the winner, while Michael Campbell ended in a share of 44th at 12-over after rounds of 73, 79 and 76.

At the Ladies European Tour's second-tier Access Series, Wenyung and Munchin Keh both missed the cut at the Women's Golf Championship in England. Wenyung Keh ended at eight-over, tied for 73rd, after rounds of seven-over 78 and one-over 73, and Munchin Keh at 12-over, tied for 100th, following rounds of 80 and 76.
