Geary ready for NSW Open final day charge

New Zealand's Josh Geary continues to be in reach of the leader at the New South Wales Golf Open at the Murray Downs course.


However Geary who is at 11-under has some work to do to catch Cameron Smith who had a 5-under 66 third round to be at 15-under overall. Second is fellow Aussie Carey Lamb.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Geary carded a third round of two-under which was inconsistent.


He birded the first, bogeyed the next two then birded the sixth. There was two birdies on the 11th and 12th followed by two bogeys and then two consecutive bogeys at 15 and 16.


Of the other New Zealanders Denzel Ieremia is at three-under and tied 34th, Kerry Mountcastle is one shot further back and tied 40th.


Harry Hillier had a dramatic drop down the leaderboard. He carded a 64 in his second round but made 77 in his third including six bogeys, one double bogey and two birdies.
