New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox has had a tough third round at the US Open in Pinehurst, South Carolina.

However despite Fox sitting at 11-over after a six-over round it's still the third consecutive cut this year at a Major.

His last eight holes included a double bogey on the 11th and 13th as well as bogeys on the 14th and 15th.

He bogeyed the first and ninth holes, with a birdie on the eighth and 10, but that was all the joy Fox was going to get from his round.

Fox sits tied 65th overall.

American Bryson DeChambeau had stormed up the leaderboard to sit at seven-under at the completion of his round.

He was three shots ahead of Ireland's Rory McIlroy, Frenchman Mattieu Pavon and American Patrick Cantlay all at four-under.
