Ryan Fox has returned to some of his best form in the men’s golf tournament at the Paris Olympics.

Fox, 37, fought back well on 'Moving Day', with a three-under 68 in the third round at Le Golf National on Saturday, to reach five-under, in a tie for 23rd, nine strokes off co-leaders Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele.

On the front nine, Fox had three birdies - at the par-five third, par-four seventh and par-five ninth - and one bogey and produced birdies at the par-four 10th and 12th holes on the back nine, with a bogey at the 17th.

The Aucklander opened the tournament with an impressive four-under 67, but had a less memorable two-over 73 in the second round to slip well down the leaderboard.

Daniel Hiller managed to avoid the punishing double-bogeys that plagued him over the first two days and shot a one-under 70 in the third round, with two birdies and a bogey.

The 25-year-old Wellingtonian has now shot 75, 73, 70 to be at five-over but did move up to a share of 53rd in the 60-man field.

Hillier will start his final round on Sunday at 7.22pm NZ Time, and Fox, who could potentially surge into the top-10 with a great last day, gets started at 9.06pm NZT.
