England crush White Ferns by eight wickets

The White Ferns have lost the second One Day International to England at Worcester by eight wickets to lose the series.


England's Maia Bouchier hit a maiden century chasing the total of just 142 which also brought up her hundred from 88 balls.


Bouchier hit 17 fours and added 73 for the first wicket with Tammy Beaumont in another one-sided contest that gave England an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

For New Zealand there was a run out and the one other wicker was Heather Knight out caught Amelia Kerr bowled Brooke Halliday.


Earlier, spinner Sophie Ecclestone starred with 5-25 as New Zealand were dismissed for 141 in 41.5 overs.


In the New Zealand total Amelia Kerr, who made 43, and Maddy Green with 30 were steadily building a platform at 114-3 while Sophie Devine had made 28.


The batting lineup then collapsed for just 27 runs, including three ducks.


Halliday was out for six, Lauren Down and Izzy Gaze no score, Jess Kerr made 14,

Molly Penfold went for a duck and Fran Jonas two.

After being all out for 156 in the opening game, New Zealand's batters were visibly short of confidence against slower bowling


The three-match series continues at Bristol on Wednesday and is followed by five T20s.
