All Whites captain Chris Wood has his second goal of the Premier League season for Nottingham Forest.

Wood headed in a corner in the 10th minute in Forest's 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the City Ground in Nottingham on Saturday (Sunday NZ Time).

Wood, who did not see any action during Forest's penalty shootout loss to Newcastle United in the second round of the League Cup during the week, was all alone behind the mass of bodies in the area and nodded a pinpoint header to the opposite side of goal.

After three rounds of the Premier League, the Reds are one of seven teams without a loss, while Wood is one of 15 players with at least two goals.

It was Wood's 24th Premier League goal from a header, his 71st overall in the top-flight and the 17th league goal for Notts Forest since joining in 2023.

The 32-year-old almost had another from a header in the 65th minute, when he leapt over a defender but his chance was parried away by Wolverhampton goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Meanwhile, former All Whites forward Andre de Jong provided the assist on the winning goal in Stellenbosch FC's 1-0 win over the Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinal second leg of their MTN8 Cup competition in South Africa.

De Jong, who scored in a 3-1 quarterfinal victory over TS Galaxy on August 4, also earned Man of the Match honours as Stellenbosch advanced to the MTN8 final 2-0 on aggregate over the 2023-24 South African Premier Division champions.

De Jong and Stellenbosch will face the Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 decider in October.
