Carrington, Hoskin win World Cup gold again

More medal for canoeists Dame Lisa Carrington and Alicia Hoskin as they build up to the Paris Olympics.


They won the women's K2 500m gold on Saturday (Sunday NZ Time) at the latest World Cup in Poland, beating a German crew by one second followed by a Polish pair in third.

Fellow Kiwis Aimee Fisher and Lucy Matehaere finished eighth in the same final.


It was just over a week since Carrington, 34, and Hoskin, 24, won gold in the World Cup in Hungary.


Carrington and Fisher also both won their respective women's K1 500m heats and will race in the semis on Sunday (Monday NZT). In Hungary, Fisher beat Carrington for the title.


Earlier, there was a silver medal in the women's K4 500m for Carrington, Hoskin, Olivia Brett and Tara Vaughan.
