The Black Sticks Men will play for third at the 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia after a draw in their final round robin match.
The New Zealand men’s hockey side finished 1-1 against against Pakistan after a goal-less first half as both teams were unable to capitalise on the chances they created.

However, New Zealand took the lead in the 35th minute with a field goal by Luke Holmes, who was fresh into the squad for the tournament.
But Pakistan scored the equaliser, eight minutes later, with Abu Bakr Mahmood scoring from a penalty corner.
The score remained tied for the rest of the match to give the Black Caps a 2-1-2 record.
The Black Sticks will play the home side for third on Saturday (10.15pm NZT), three days after losing to Malaysia 6-4.
