The Tom Latham led Black Caps really have done the unthinkable. Not only did the win their first test series in India but they did it by whitewashing the home side 3-0 and did it by defending a total of just 147 runs.
India’s top order faltered once again, quickly losing half their side for just 29 runs. Rishabh Pant, showed some nerve and looked like he wanted to win for India by himself bringing up his half-century in just 48 balls.

The runs dried up after Pant’s departure and New Zealand soon ran through the rest of the lineup on day three in Mumbai.
He first formed a 42-run partnership with Jadeja and then added 35 runs with Washington Sundar.,
Ajaz Patel halted the onslaught taking Pant for 64and completed his second five-for of the game with a stunning delivery that clipped Pant’s inside edge and lobbed into the keeper’s hands.
Only captain Rohit Sharma with 11 and Washington Sundar 12 made double figures for the home side.
Patel eventually finished the innings 6-57 in the second innings and a total 11-160 for the match.
Glenn Phillips took 3-42 and Matt Henry 1-10 from his three overs.
Earlier New Zealand resumed their second innings on 171-9 and added three runs, but India needed only 14 balls to bowl the Black Caps out, as Jadeja had Patel caught in the deep to end with 5-55, after bagging five in the first innings,
Patel was voted player of the match, while Will Young was player of the series.
It is the first time India have been whitewashed in a Test series at home since South Africa's 2-0 win in 1999-2000 and their first-ever 3-0 clean sweep at home.
