The Black Caps will play an ODI tri-series against Pakistan and South Africa early next year.

The three nations will meet in the central city of Multan in February in the lead-up to the 50-over ICC Champions Trophy tournament, to be held in three Pakistan cities from February 19-March 9.

New Zealand will face Pakistan on Saturday, February 8 and the Proteas on Monday, February 10, both at Multan Cricket Stadium, starting at 6pm NZ Time.

The announcement of the warm-up games comes in the wake of the Black Caps playing no matches ahead of last month's ICC T20 World Cup, which resulted in them being eliminated in the first group stage after losses to Afghanistan and the West Indies.

The Black Caps, currently, do not play again in any format until October 16, when they start a three-test series in India, followed by a three-test series at home against England in November-December, both part of the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship.

According to the ICC's 2022-27 Future Tours Programme, New Zealand are scheduled to play one test in Afghanistan and two in Sri Lanka ahead of the India test series, followed by three ODIs and three T20s in Sri Lanka.

The Black Caps are also set to host Sri Lanka and Pakistan in three ODIs, three T20s series in December and January, but the full home summer schedule has yet to be confirmed.
