Fourteen wickets fell on the first day of the third test between the Black Caps and India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.


New Zealand were dismissed for 235 with Daryl Mitchell top scoring on 82 and suffering from heat exhaustion in the humid conditions.

Captain Tom Latham with 28 and Glenn Phillips 17 were the other other Black Caps to make double figures.


Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for 65.


In reply India are 86 for 4 including the wicket of Virat Kohil run out for four as the home side imploded again, losing three wickets in two overs.


Ajaz Patel has 2-33 while Matt Henry took the other wicket. Both Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner were not selected due to injuries.


New Zealand have already won the series 2-0.
