The Black Caps have been bundled out for only 259 in their first innings of the second test against India in Pune.


At times the New Zealand innings looked promising with Devon Conway comfortable at the top of the order compiling 76 including 11 fours.


He watched as captain Tom Latham was out for 15 and Will Young for 18.

Rachin Ravindra also looked comfortable at the crease in a battle with Ravichandran Ashwin mainly before he became one of seven victims to Washington Sundar 7-59.


Ravindra was eventually out for 65 from 105 balls.


From there the innings fell away as all remaining battings fell to Sundar.


Daryl Mitchell went for 18, Tom Blundell three, Glenn Phillips nine while Mitchell Santner hit some big shots in his 33 - four fours and two sixes.


Tim Southee went for five and Ajaz Patel for four while Will O'Rourke was left not out on no score.


When the home side came to bat captain Rohit Sharma was out for no score, cleaned bowled by Southee leaving India at 16-1 on an exciting day with a pitch looking to turn and being unpredictable.
