The Black Caps are on the verge of something unthinkable as they lead India by 301 runs in the second test at Pune.


Dismissing the home side for just 156 mainly thanks to Mitchell Santner take 7-53 and Glenn Phillips 2-26 as the Indian side imploded.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Only Ravindra Jadeja down the order showed any real resistance scoring 38, Shubman Gill made 30 as did Yashasvi Jaiswall.


The star wicket of Virat Kohli was bowled for one by Santner from a full toss which surprised both batter and bowler.


Into the New Zealand second innings and captain Tom Latham made a well-compiled 86 to lead the way to 198-5.


Devon Conway was out for 17 while Will Young also looked good but was lbw for 23.


Rachin Ravindra fell for just nine while Daryl Mitchell got a start but went for 18.


Tom Blundell is not out 30 and Phillips nine as the Black Caps try and push home the lead going into the the third day.


New Zealand easily won the first test a few days ago and are aiming to take the second and seal their first series victory in India.
