NZ trio make Senior Open cut; Ko in contention

Steven Alker is the best of the Kiwi golfers after the second round at the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie, Scotland


Alker carded a one-over 73 on Friday (Saturday NZ Time) to be even for the tournament in a tie for 11th, six strokes off the lead.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Michael Campbell jumped more than 25 places into a tie for 28th at four-over, but Michael Long dropped down to a tie for 70th at seven-over, also making the cut.


South Korea's KJ Choi leads the tournament at six-under.


Meanwhile, Lydia Ko is preparing for the Olympics by playing the LPGA's CPKC Women’s Open in Calgary, Canada.


She sits tied fourth after a one-under 71 in the second round on Friday (Saturday NZT) to be three-under for the tournament, three off the lead.


Her round included three birdies, at the fourth, 12th and 16th holes, and two bogeys, at the 11th and 18th..
