Ellie Bird's temporary replacement player status with the Mainland Tactix has now become permanent.

A third-quarter charge by the Tactix led to their overthrow of the ANZ Premiership champion Mystics.

The Mainland Tactix required all their experience and poise to fend off a spirited Northern Stars. 

Led by centurion Kimiora Poi, the Mainland Tactix have subdued the Southern Steel in the first South Island Derby.
